Hoda Tawakol’s soft-sculptural series of Lures resemble the hunting lure given to falcons in order to exercise the hunting instincts and chase after prey, as a guise of creating an object that resembles an illusion of a victim or target. These hanging lures contain abstract figurative elements through the elongated curvilinear shapes and organic bodily components. Ultimately, they manifest as deconstructed cognitions of the human form and as totems to primary instinct aligned with sexuality and survival.
