Paradoxically entitled Still Life, everything is set in constant flux and transformation in these works. They depict the Arab Spring through images found on the Internet and iPhone photos to challenge the idea of photography through works based on actual imagery of the events. These works are rendered in a dramatic manner, like early Western paintings, but treated with an Eastern/Oriental aesthetic by introducing symmetry and the artist's own body. In doing so, the Western aesthetics of painting is removed from these works compelling the viewer to view the situation on a 'pause' mode.
