For IN SITU Patrimoine et Art Contemporain, Abdelkader Benchamma creates an ambitious mural facing the Renaissance fireplace of the ceremonial room of Lagrasse Abbey, which is considered one of the most important Benedictine settlements of France with its origins dating back to the 8th century. Both powerful and poetic in their formal execution, Bechamma's installations go beyond the limits of drawing to create murals that modify and distort our relationship to our perceptions of space and matter, as they probe the frontiers of the invisible and intangible.
