German-Iranian artist Haleh Redjaian's solo at Bregenzer Kunstverein looks at the line and its subsequent multiplication by inviting the viewers to engage with its supposed regularity and then losing themselves in its underlying faults. By taking the line as a departure point in her works on paper, handwoven rugs and installations, Redjaian creates ornate, gridded patterns that suggest a rational tangibility of the world. Her work undermines any logical explanation and opens up to poetical interpretation.
