Hamburg-based Franco-Egyptian artist Hoda Tawakol's solo exhibition at Galerie im Marstal, a public art space will stage an ambitious large-scale room installation, in which the artist examines the body as an important facet of identity and as a reflection of society itself. Her practice is a personal inquest into female corporeality and the universal perception of it, both in Middle Eastern and Western contexts, attempting to deconstruct symbols and archetypes that beset female agency.
